Can I visit the archive?

By appointment only - We’d like to encourage the archive to be used for educational, research purposes and to support artist development within animation for all abilities, however our archive manager has limited availability throughout the year. If you’d like access to material within the archive for research please get in touch and we’ll try our best to accommodate you.

13.11.24 - We are currently unable to facilitate archive visits due to lack of space.

Can I visit the exhibition?

Annual Public Exhibitions - Our venue, Waterside Arts hosts a public animation exhibition in the Lauriston gallery every year. Our last public exhibition with the collection was called Scene on Screen and ran 23 September 2023 - 6 January 2024. Check back on our website or follow us on social media (@cosgrovehallfilmsarchive) to see future updates and events.

Can I get copyright permission to publish, distribute Cosgrove Hall material?

Waterside Arts are custodians of the physical assets from Cosgrove Hall studios, including the original drawings, animation cels, puppets, armatures and sets. We do not own the copyright for any material directly from the series. Our aim is to share and preserve the legacy of the archive with the public for education and research purposes. We trust that you won’t publish any images without consent from other sources, if you do so without credit or consent you must accept full responsibility for this.

For all copyright permissions relating to Cosgrove Hall shows which were aired on Thames Television, please consult Boat Rocker Media or Fremantle Media. For all Cosgrove Hall shows aired on the BBC, please consult the BBC directly, Dreamworks or NBC Universal.

Can I purchase or view any Cosgrove Hall animated series here?

Cosgrove Hall Films Archive is responsible for the physical assets pertaining to Cosgrove Hall studios, including the original drawings, animation cels, puppets, armatures and set.

We do not license, distribute or sell the animated series.

Can I purchase any merchandise here?

We do not sell or distribute any merchandise of Cosgrove Hall Films. As custodians, we’re here to look after the original puppets, production material and sets, which we share with the public through public exhibitions, animation talks and workshops within the local community.

Can I contribute a post to the blog?

We would always like to hear from our Cosgrove Hall community! Our blog is a space for behind the scenes stories about the archive.
